Say It Isn't So

I just finish reporting on the acquisition of Telex by BOSCH and how we are looking forward to the change and then John points to a new product introduction from BOSCH. As a soundman, all around audio aficionado and Apple evangelist, I can't remember what life was like before the iPod and I own more than my share of them with countless accessories, but, what in the word is this thing. It kind of looks like a retro-portable generator with an iPod controller. This can't be the same BOSCH that just bought my beloved Electro-Voice, please, say it isn't so. Heaven help us if this thing ever gets EV branded.

Then again - When EV and TELEX merged I can remember my horrified reaction. There is just no way my customers are going to let me bring a TELEX PA to the gig. In retrospect , at the end of that tumultuous episode, EV culture dominated and all was well. So too, I predict, all will end well this time. Who knows, maybe they are on to something here. Hmmmmmm...
